Herotel Hosts First Mdantsane Soccer Tournament: A Game-Changer for Local Youth

Herotel is thrilled to have been part of an exciting and vibrant new chapter for the Mdantsane community. This year, we had the honour of organising the very first Mdantsane Soccer Tournament, which brought together eight local schools for a weekend of friendly competition and sportsmanship.

The participating schools included:

  • Caley
  • Forbes Grant
  • Mbanga
  • Masixole
  • Philemon Ngcelwane
  • Hlokoma
  • Breidbach
  • Sinethemba

The Results
After a fierce battle on the field, the teams showed incredible spirit. The Quarter-finals saw intense matches, including a thrilling penalty shootout between Forbes Grant and Gcelwane, and an unexpected win from Sinethemba. Here are the results:

Semi-finals:

  • Sinethemba (4) vs Forbes Grant (3)
  • Masixole 2 vs Hlokoma 1

Final:

  • Sinethemba High School 2 vs Masixole High School 1

The winning school, Sinethemba, walked away with R20,000 in prize money, while Masixole took home soccer kits branded with Herotel’s logo. We also ensured every player was recognised with trophies and medals for their outstanding participation.

This inaugural event was not just about sports; it was about coming together as a community. Herotel is proud to have been able to contribute to the local youth’s development and offer a platform for showcasing their talent.
