About Us
A Brief History of Herotel
2013 – A Bold Beginning
Herotel began its journey in 2013 with one clear goal: to connect all South Africans to faster, more affordable internet. What started as a dream quickly became a movement.
Building a United Network
Over time, 30 owner-operated businesses joined forces — uniting under one vision and one name: Herotel. Together, we set out to shake up an industry that desperately needed change.
Changing How South Africans Connect
We knew the internet wasn’t a luxury — it was a lifeline. From education and work to staying in touch with loved ones, connectivity became the heartbeat of modern South African life.
Empowering Everyday Heroes

Today – A Connected Nation
Today, Herotel is South Africa’s largest fixed wireless provider and the third-largest fibre network operator, connecting over 335 000 homes and businesses in more than 500 towns, cities & suburbs.
Tomorrow – Always Reaching Further
Our journey continues. We remain tireless in our mission to bring fast, affordable internet to as many South Africans as possible — because every connection matters.
