What is Wireless Internet?
Herotel Wireless connects you using radio signals from nearby towers, giving you fast internet without fibre cables.
Where is Wireless available?
Wireless is ideal for areas without fibre infrastructure. Check coverage online using your physical address.
How fast is Wireless?
Wireless internet can reach high speeds, especially for business customers; our standard packages include 10/2, 10/5, and 15/5 Mbps — more than enough for streaming, working, and everyday browsing.
Does Wireless have data caps?
No. All Hero Wireless packages are uncapped and unshaped, with no throttling.
Do I need a contract for Wireless?
No, there are no long-term contracts — you’re free to cancel at any time with a calendar month's notice. However, if you cancel within the first 12 months, a R1500 clawback fee applies for the subsidised installation.
What equipment is required?
With your installation, you will receive a free-to-use router and an antenna installed on your property to connect to the nearest tower.
How long does installation take?
Wireless installations can be a bit more complex than fibre installations, whilst we aim to install between 3-5 working days from initial sign up it can take a bit longer due to wireless antennas that need to be tested and internal capacity surveys depending on your location. We want to make sure you get the speeds that you’re paying for.
Is Wireless reliable for streaming and work?
Yes. Our network is designed to handle HD streaming, online meetings, and daily tasks with minimal interruptions.
Will I be online during power outages or loadshedding
Answer is yes, you will be, our sites runs on backup power, this means that if you have a UPS and your power is on, your internet will be on.
Can I move my Wireless connection if I relocate?
Yes — if your new home is within tower coverage. We’ll help check coverage and arrange relocation if possible.
What happens during bad weather?
Our wireless network is built for South African conditions. While extreme weather can affect performance temporarily, service generally remains stable and reliable.
